TWO horses have died in a fire which broke out at a Sedgley stables in the early hours of this morning.
The fire at stables and outbuildings off Turls Hill Road, which is off Queens Road, broke out at around 1.25am this morning (Tuesday October 15).
Firefighters from Dudley, Bilston, Tipton and Wolverhampton fought the flames, with the fire declared out by 6.50am.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, with an investigation taking place.
People were advised to avoid the area earlier this morning. Sadly two horses died in the fire, West Midlands Fire Service said.
A spokesman for the service said: "This fire affected an area of stables and outbuildings, measuring approximately 20m x 20m.
"Around 80% of the building was affected.
"Two main jets and a hose reel were used to extinguish the fire, which was confirmed to be out at around 6.50am.
"Crews were supported by drone operations.
"Very sadly, two horses died as a result of this fire."
They said two fire engines remained at the scene this morning extinguishing hotspots, with fire investigation officers in attendance.
