A CRADLEY firm which has a distinctive Peaky Blinders-themed truck was thrilled to be asked to play a part in the filming of the new film at the Black Country Museum.
Staff from Amlin Motors on Maypole Fields were asked to deliver three hire vehicles to the Peaky Blinders film shoot as stars and camera crews descended on the popular attraction, from Thursday (October 17) until Saturday (October 19).
The highly anticipated film starring Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy will follow the family into the Second World War and is promised to be an "explosive chapter" in the story about the historic Birmingham gang, according to writer and creator Steven Knight.
Staff from Amlin Motors were delighted to provide vehicles to help transport props around the museum on Discovery Way, while filming took place by Oblik Productions.
Managing director Andrew Lindop, aged 48, said "Our Peaky Blinders recovery truck is well known in the local area.
"Everyone comments on it!
"When the Peaky Blinders people asked to hire our vehicles they didn't know about it!
"We took it with us and they all crowded round it and had a good giggle.
"It was great.
"We are big fans of Peaky Blinders.
"We had the truck done years ago so it was a nice touch to be asked to provide vehicles for the shoot."
Amlin Motors started its rental franchise Practical Car and Van Rental in January.
Unfortunately staff didn't get to meet any of the stars as they had to drop off the vans at 8am in the morning, before they had arrived.
But eagle-eye fans have taken to social media, sharing videos of a production crew that are suspected to have been filming for the highly anticipated Peaky Blinders movie in Dudley.
Camera crews were spotted over the weekend near Bumble Hole, Netherton with props and narrowboats that would not be out of place in a Peaky Blinders scene.
Although it has not been confirmed that this set was for the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, filming for the production has taken place in other locations across the West Midlands on Monday, October 21.
The film’s leading man, Cillian Murphy, was spotted on horseback filming around Cornwall Street, Birmingham, donning Tommy Shelby’s trademark gangster flat cap.
Actor Stephen Graham, who is joining the cast of the movie along with the likes of Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth, was also spotted on set on a narrowboat in Gas Street Basin, Birmingham.
A release date for the movie, which will be released on Netflix, is yet to be announced.
