A DUDLEY man has been charged with a string of robberies in Sandwell, Birmingham and the Leicestershire area.
Bhupinder Singh, aged 28, of no fixed address, has been charged with eight counts of robbery and a burglary.
He appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Saturday (October 26) and has been remanded in custody to await trial at crown court on November 22.
The charges come after a number of supermarkets were targeted including Sainsbury's at Oldbury, Tesco at Cradley Heath, plus stores in Longbridge and Birmingham.
A man was also assaulted and robbed in one incident earlier this month.
The charges come as part of Operation Ruby which West Midlands Police force is running to try to reduce offences of robbery.
