STRICTLY Come Dancing pro, Amy Dowden is said to “doing much better” after suffering a health scare during Saturday night’s episode of the dance show.

It’s been confirmed that after missing Sunday night’s results show, Amy will not be taking part in rehearsal or next weekend’s live show with celeb partner JB Gill, with another professional dancer stepping in.

A spokesperson for the TV show said: “Amy Dowden MBE is doing much better and the Strictly family send her love and wish her well.

“She is delighted that fellow professional dancer Lauren Oakley is able to step in for rehearsals and to perform in Saturday’s show for JB Gill’s couple’s choice dance.

“We are all hopeful that Amy will be back to dance with JB next week.”

Amy was admitted to hospital as a precaution after falling ill on set but has since been discharged.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called just after 9pm on Saturday to attend a medical emergency at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood.

“An ambulance was sent to the scene. One patient, an adult female, was transported to Barnet Hospital for further care.”

Amy’s management company said she was “resting” and would be supporting JB and Lauren during this weekend’s show.

Cloud9 Management said in an Instagram post: “We are grateful for the well wishes to our client Amy Dowden MBE.

“After being taken ill on Saturday night, Amy was discharged from hospital the following day and is now resting.

“She is looking forward to supporting JB and Lauren and hopes to return to the rehearsal room next week.”

JB took to Instagram to thank the public for their support after Amy’s health scare.

This was Amy’s first year back in the ballroom after having battled breast cancer.

The dancer was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May 2023 and has been public in her journey through treatment and recovery.

Amy has been an advocate for others fighting breast cancer and next year is due to host a special charity show at Dudley Town Hall next year, raising money for the breast cancer charity, CoppaFeel!.

Amy has strong ties to the region, being the founder of Art in Motion Dance Academy in Cradley.

As well as her breast cancer journey, Amy is candid about her experience living with Chron’s Disease – a lifelong condition that affected part of the digestive symptom and can cause painful flareups.

She fronted the BBC programme Strictly Amy: Crohn’s And Me, in which she spoke about her condition and met other people with Crohn’s to hear about their experiences.
