A number of schools have been closed after heavy snowfall hit parts of the Black Country. 

Weather warnings are in place across parts of the country as snow continues to fall causing travel disruption and school closures. 

Here is a list of school closures in the Black Country so far:

  • Perryfields Academy
  • Bristnall Hall Academy in Oldbury
  • Alder Coppice Primary School in Sedgley
  • Halesbury School in Halesowen
  • Red Hall Primary School in Lower Gornal
  • The Link Academy in Netherton
  • The Woodsetton School in Dudley
  • Thorns Collegiate Academy in Quarry Bank
  • Beacon Hill Academy in Dudley
  • Thorns Collegiate Academy in Brierley Hill 
  • Bramford Primary School in Coseley - partially closed

In a statement announcing the school closure, Perryfields Academy in Oldbury said: "Perryfields Academy will be closed on Tuesday, November 19 after overnight snowfall affected our school site.

"It had been hoped that lessons would begin with a later start time to allow staff and students to safely make it to Oldacre Road, but further unexpected developments have forced a complete closure for the day." 

Most schools will be providing updates later today so parents and carers are advised to check social media and school websites for updates.
