A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy Birmingham road yesterday.
It happened on Winson Green Road yesterday afternoon, December 3, with the A4040 being closed in both directions between canal bridge and Magdala Street while emergency services were at the scene.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an RTC on Winson Green Road in Birmingham just before 4pm and sent an ambulance and critical care paramedic to the scene.
“On arrival, crews discovered a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision.
“The pedestrian, a boy, was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”
West Midlands Police were also called to the scene where they said the driver assisted them with their inquiries.
A spokesperson from the force said: “We would urge anyone with dash-cam footage or who was in the area at the time and has any information to get in touch via Live Chat quoting log 3312 of 3 December.”
