AN £18m Dudley mosque has been given the go-ahead in a High Court ruling.
Judge Mr Justice Wyn Williams granted outline planning permission to Dudley Muslim Association's plans to build the mosque and community and training centre on derelict land in Hall Street.
The judge, sitting at Birmingham's Civil Justice Centre, rejected Dudley Council's appeal against the planning inspector's decision, made after a week long hearing in June last year.
A spokesman for Dudley Council, said they were "disappointed with the judge's decision."
The spokesman said: "We would not have taken this case to the High Court if we did not feel we had a strong case.
He added: "We need to consider the reasons that have been given on the decision before we can consider what options are available to us."
