OLDSWINFORD under-13s have every reason to be pleased after being crowned Worcestershire champions.
The youngsters beat Pershore in the county final with vice skipper Tom Hayward hitting 30 and Oliver Nicholls claiming three wickets.
It continues a so far unbeaten campaign for the team, who also have a chance of victory in the pairs competition.
Oldswinford’s emphasis on youth development has been reflected in recent years by a number of young stars progressing into the first team - who now sit eighth in Worcester League Division One following a defeat at Bewdley.
Batting first they were skittled out for just 176, with only Asa Robinson (51) showing any form. Bewdley reached their target with three wickets to spare.
Oldswinford seconds lost their position at the top of Division Two when they suffered a six wicket defeat to Stourport. Phil Addis made 87 in an Oldswinford total of 225-6 but Stourport had no problem reaching their target.
