THE speaker at the September meeting held at the Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill, was Ken Hughes talking about Sauce, Tea and Custard.
Sixty-eight members and visitors heard him describe the founding and development of three Birmingham companies: HP Sauce, Birds Custard and Typhoo Tea.
In the last year the Luncheon Club has raised and donated to the hospice £2,000 towards the £2,000,000 annual running costs and a raffle at the lunch raised a further £90.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday December 14 and will include a programme of Christmas music played on handbells.
New members and visitors are always welcome and for further information please contact Mrs B Julian on 01384 295848.
