Netherton CC’s poor start continued as they lost at home by six wickets to Belbroughton in Worcestershire League Division Two.
The day started badly for the hosts as they when opener Paul Harris was bowled second ball by Chris Amundsen after being asked to bat.
Mary Buttery (5) also went cheaply before Netherton slumped to 51-6.
A steady 50-partnership between Russ Oseland (38) and Steve Matthews (24) rebuilt the innings slightly but Amundsen’s 7-31 helped dismiss Netherton for 131.
Netherton were given early hope as Belbroughton opener Olly Hawker was removed for without scoring by Zoheb Tariq and Scott Robbins then bowled Jack Pearlman for two.
But William Pardoe led the fightback, hitting an unbeaten 76 to help see his side home in just over 33 overs.
Netherton remain 10th in the table and travel to Romsley and Hunnington on Saturday.
