WITH lockdown not entirely lifted and many people still having to stay at home - neighbours in the Dudley borough are being urged to remain thoughtful towards each other during the coronavirus crisis.
Dudley Council has seen an increase in the number of calls from people left frustrated over noise nuisance from their neighbours during the COVID-19 lockdown and bosses at the local authority say this is adding to demand placed on its anti-social behaviour team.
Councillor Laura Taylor, Dudley's cabinet member for housing and communities, said: "We are all spending much more time at home than we normally would and with many people feeling anxious and uneasy there has never been a more important time to be considerate of your neighbours.
"It is very important that residents continue to follow government advice, such as not inviting others from outside their household over, and I would ask people to refrain from creating a noise nuisance for others who live nearby."
People with concerns are advised to speak to their neighbours in the first instance and to find an agreement on how best to live around one another during the restrictions.
Anyone who has concerns and has not been able to successfully resolve the issue with their neighbours themselves can contact the council's anti-social behaviour team for guidance and advice.
More information can be found on the council’s website dudley.gov.uk/residents/housing/your-tenancy/anti-social-behaviour/. Further information or advice is available by calling the anti-social behaviour team via Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345.
