THE closure of Kingswinford high street for resurfacing begins tomorrow (January 7).
The High Street in Kingswinford, also known as the A4101, will be closed between Market Street and Standhills Road on weekdays from January 7 to January 21 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Traffic will be diverted via Market Street, Stream Road, Bromley Lane, Standhills Road and vice versa while the works are in place.
Three-way temporary traffic lights will also be in place on the junctions of Standhills Road and Bromley Lane, and Bromley Lane/Stream Road.
Drivers have been told to expect delays and if possible to use alternative routes while the works are taking place.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for environmental services, said: "As a council we are very keen to listen to our residents and what their priorities are.
"Our highways department has received a number of complaints about the state of this particular stretch of road.
"We always want to help out with what people want, and on this occasion I’m pleased that we have been able to."
