THE wife of murdered Netherton father-of-two Simon Johnson said she and her family are devastated after he was found dead at his home on Thursday (August 11).
A murder inquiry was launched after the 41-year-old was found at an address in Cradley Road at around 9.40am.
A forensic post mortem examination revealed he died as a result of stab injuries.
Mr Johnson’s wife has paid tribute to her husband. She said: “Simon was loved by all of his family and was a very proud father of two girls.
“We are devastated by our loss and would like our privacy to be respected as we grieve.”
Two men – both aged 18 – had been arrested on suspicion of murder but have since been released without charge, while detectives last night (Friday, August 12) arrested another 18-year-old local man in connection with the killing.
West Midlands Police is continuing to appeal for information as detectives piece together the circumstances of Mr Johnson’s death and are calling on members of the local community to helpplay a part in helping them to do that.
Anyone who saw anything – regardless of how insignificant it may be – and have not yet spoken to officers, call the Homicide Team on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
