DUDLEY Town Football Club face an away fixture every game they play.
But their nomadic status hasn't stopped them from winning promotion to the Midland Football League Premier Division this season.
Ever since the club lost their Castlegate ground in Dudley due to mining subsidence back in 1985, they've been forced to play at a variety of venues.
Home is currently at Sporting Khalsa's ground in Willenhall near Wolverhampton but Dudley Town have also played in Halesowen, Stourbridge and Oldbury to name but a few venues.
Despite this adversity, the club has kept going under the leadership of Steve Austin and his team.
Now Steve has been nominated for a Dudley Community Award in the sports club or team caregory, supporter Cllr Shaukat Ali said: "I think it's a fantastic achievement that Dudley Town have won promotion despite the fact they don't have a home ground.
"It will lift the morale of the whole club and help raise their profile considerably.
"It's a sad situation that they are having to play outside of Dudley Borough.
"I've known Steve for the past 24 - 25 years since becoming a local councillor and he has been instrumental in helping to keep the club going all this time."
The Dudley Community Awards will take place at an exclusive black tie event at the Copthorne Hotel in Dudley on Thursday , November 23 where the winners will be announced.
